This year MET Gala was very clear from the beginning. Just had to read the title of the exhibition presented: “Punk: Chaos to Couture”. This year was time for something groundbreaking punk-like style.

The princesses must stay home. The choice of the best dressed of the MET 2013 part of the dress code. It was not the night to find a new Elie Saab. Though the night was much more docile than expected, remained Punk.

The great couple of night, Riccardo Tisci and Rooney Mara, dressed in Givenchy Haute Couture. Two ways of understanding the punk, romantic and dark. The punk in 2013 is this.1 2

Anne Hathaway in a black dress by Valentino, her hair dyed blonde for the occasion. The inspiration, as she confirmed, was Debbie Harry.

The attitude is more important than the dress. Sienna Miller, her white dress, Burberry Prorsum.

Representing that English young punk; Cara Delevingne in Burberry Prorsum, jewelery by Dominic Jones and her hair to one side very Alice Dellal.

To Diane Kruger punk is a touch of pink in her impeccable blond hair. The wonderful Chanel Haute Couture dress does the rest.

Excitingly different, Alexa Chung in Erdem black design that combines transparency and frills.

Kirsten Dunst, has chosen for this year’s Met Gala Louis Vuitton design.

Pretty in pink & pretty in punk: Kate Bosworth in Balmain.

Gwyneth Paltrow serene and bright with one of the vibrant fuchsia pink Valentino.

The beautiful actress Blake Lively dressed in a silver and black Gucci Premiere on the night of punk.

Jessica Biel in Giambattista Valli.

Hairstyle ala ‘Pulp Fiction‘ and outfit of Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci, the queen of pop is back to her more punk origins, we talk about Madonna.

Beyoncé, another girl of Riccardo Tisci, with a maximalist, baroque Givenchy Couture, completely exclusive for this Met Gala.

Miranda Kerr.

Amanda Seyfried has had the honor of carrying another exclusive creations by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy in this year’s Met Gala.

Carey Mulligan and her Balenciaga. Or how punk also stands for clean, simple lines.

The tweet in which Miley Cyrus has announced that she will be dressed in Marc Jacobs, had a quick effect on Twitter.

If anything characterizes the punk is to transcend pop icons and turn them into dark and subversive elements, such as Bambi, which will never be naive and innocent after seeing this look of Givenchy worn by Carine Roitfeld.

Kristen Stewart has chosen a burgundy jumpsuit by Stella McCartney.

Stella McCartney poses with Cameron Diaz, wearing an elegant klein blue dress.

Jennifer Lawrence shows a darker side of Hollywood. Look by Dior Haute Couture, of course!

Nude, pink and yellow. Marion Cotillard and her Dior Haute Couture.

Tom Ford and Joan Smalls, both in total black.

Taylor Swift, in J Mendel, wearing smoky eyes to a new dimension. Because America’s sweetheart can also be dark.

Michelle Williams has teamed with Saint Laurent, for completing her look with a beautiful tiara.

Emma Watson has stopped time on the red carpet with an ultra sexy Prabal Gurung.

The Florence Welch copper hair contrasts perfectly with the black velvet dress, Givenchy Haute Couture.

Mother no more than one. Anna Wintour, in Chanel Haute Couture, with her daughter Bee Shaffer, Dior Haute Couture.

Sarah Jessica Parker, giving punk a very baroque twist.

Elle Fanning, and Dakota, worn one of the creations of Rodarte.

The creative duo formed by film director Sofia Coppola and designer Marc Jacobs.

Dree Hemingway.

The designer Christopher Kane was accompanied by an elegant Stella Tennant.

Hanneli Mustaparta.

Solange Knowles with her Kenzo design, so tribal.

Olivia Wilde and her ode to minimalism in a white dress by Calvin Klein.

The couple formed by Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower aimed to be more radical punk than anybody.

Nicole Richie

Kim Kardashian has appeared on the red carpet at the Met, very pregnant with a Givenchy dress and with her partner, rapper Kanye West.

Elie Saab Couture Spring/Summer 2013

My devotion to Elie Saab knows no bounds. The Lebanese designer presented his collection in Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week for Spring-Summer 2013 and as always, he showed us spectacular jewel dresses that only he can create.

Elie Saab Alta Costura Primavera-Verano 201314

Only he can leave us open-mouthed. His innate glamor is reflected in his now classic jewel glass embroidered dresses and models head to toe in lace carved flowers,  insinuating and discrete transparencies … and all very feminine, highlighting woman’s waist and with a mermaid silhouette.

On the runway we saw two styles: Romanticism creations, as mentioned above, and some very baroque, eighteenth-century-inspired, with lots volume. Lady-Like designs, typical of the 50′. I’m sure more than one of these models will be showed on the red carpet at the Oscars on February 24. As for the colors, pastel shades like: cream, pale pink, blue, purple, others in red, white and black.

Special mention deserves the wedding dress that has closed the parade.More Baroque impossible! But also very spectacular.

September has arrived and fashion events return strongly. The Venice film festival has given us many looks, also New York Fashion Week (NYFW) and VFNO. A week full of unique looks, some with more success than others.

Keira Knightley at the premiere of her new film, Anna Karenina (Check Knightly Knightley). In Toronto we have seen her with a dramatic black dress of Elie Saab Autumn-Winter 2012. In London Keira wore a Chanel Couture Autumn-Winter collection in pale pink and tridimensional flowers.

In New York VFNO it-girl Alexa Chung took a wonderful dress and shoes by Moschino. Alexa also went to Elle Magazine party within New York Fashion Week. For the occasion, Alexa, wore a white dress with transparencies and three-quarter sleeves.

Speaking of shopping and fashion, one that could not miss VFNO was Olivia Palermo, which was seen with a geometric print dress by Free People and Tibi sandals.

Emma Watson bet for a very modern and contemporary look. Mini dress with skirt fluorescent tones of Peter Pilotto. A look risky but very successful for the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA).

Watson also has traveled to Canada this weekend to present, as part of the International Film Festival Toronto, her new film “The Perks of Being A Wallflower“.

The actress posed for the official portrait of the festival with a minidress white skirt and a decorated to, Resort 2013 collection of Jason Wu. Earlier, Emma stepped on the red carpet during the presentation of the film with another minidress, this time in blue and black floral print, Erdem Resort 2013.

La Magie d’Elie Saab

What can I say about this wonderful collection of Elie Saab Haute Couture? Simply fascinating. The Lebanese designer has made the day of her 47th birthday with a spectacular fashion show of 47-jewel dresses, each one more impressive than the last.

Under the title In Constantinople’s Wake, Elie Saab has focused on the most wonderful and precious stones treated with great delicacy, totally faithful to their style, with feminine silhouettes waists and bold neckline.

River Of No Return

Cannes is always one of the best showcases of glamor of the cinema. On the red carpet of The Croisette, it evokes the splendor of cinema like I live out their golden years. And it is by the grace of the guests, jury members and modelsfaithful to this appointment, as well as French sophistication that leads always to be on the Côte d’Azur.
